Grown here since its introduction

We've grown Thin Man since it was introduced to the trade. Our first liners were planted in 2019. Seven years later, they're 12–14 ft B&B trees.

Why it works

  • Fits tight spaces: side yards, between houses, along walls and drives.

  • Tops out lower: 12–15 ft, for spots where a 20-ft wall is too much.

  • Fast, dense growth: privacy in a few seasons.

  • Winter color: stays green, not bronze.

  • Native species: a selection of our eastern arborvitae.

Sizes we grow

12–14' B&B

Landscape uses

Privacy screens on tight property lines, narrow side yards, vertical accents, formal rows, and single specimens.

Soil and site

Adaptable. Best in moist, well-drained soil with steady water the first season. Full sun to part sun.

Pruning and planting

Pruning is optional. If needed, trim in early spring before new growth starts. For a solid hedge, plant 2–3 ft apart.

Grown in Asbury, NJ, and shipped across the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest, from New England, Long Island and Staten Island down to Maryland and Virginia.
