Welcome to River Valley Nursery, nestled in the beautiful Musconetcong river valley, where our trees are continually nurtured by its fertile soil.

Our family business began in the 1930s as a produce business. Over the years, Grandpa Bellon expanded the business to include the sale of flowers, the establishment of nursery stock, and landscaping services. Through the 1960s and 1970s, we began growing and incorporating rare conifers into our landscape work.

Owner,
Philip Bellon, began working with his father when he was just 12 years old. Over the years, Phil has mastered the art of landscape design. Here are just some of the awards he has won:

· three-time winner of the Governor’s trophy for displays featured at the New Jersey Flower and Garden Show
· winner of People’s Choice Award at the New Jersey Flower and Garden Show

· honored with an award from the Soil and Water Conservation of New Jersey

Our Family

 

Phil and Rhonda Bellon have been married for over 35 years. More than 18 years ago, they moved their family to the Musconetcong Valley where they raised their 3 children and managed the nursery. Bryan, a graduate of Temple University, shares his parentts’ love for plants and works as the manager of the nursery and photographer for this web site. Erica now lives in Italy with her husband and two children. She is a graduate of East Stroudsburg University. David completed a Bachelor’s’ degree in Chemistry at Rutgers University. He now works for a large pharmaceutical company in New Jersey.
Our family also includes three hard working dogs: Lindty, aka Brown Dog, a Chocolate lab, who is known for her cheerful spirit and loyal character; Mini, our Jack Russell, is more independent, setting off to do her own work, exploring holes and darting under plants.
